8 Free & Easy SEO Tips

Everyone who owns a website would love to have lots of traffic that doesn't cost them anything. This is the basis of SEO or Search Engine Optimization; to get you that free traffic so that your website shows up in the top ten search results of any major search engine. While there are countless details that go into driving a highly successful SEO campaign, one area of SEO can easily be handled by just about anyone simply by using a few simple on-page tweaks that won't cost you a dime.

1. Your Website Design
One overlooked factor to be sure that the search engines rank your site well is the overall design and layout of your website. Using basic text-based navigation instead of images, limiting the use of JavaScript and Flash on your site as well as having a logical navigation with categories that help organize your website will all help push your site in the right direction.

2. The Keywords
Each and every last one of your web pages on your site needs to have it's own unique keyword phrase. When you're researching keywords for use on your site, you'll want to start with those keywords that are easy to rank well for. These are usually those keywords that don't have a lot of searches done on them but also don't have much competition in the search engines. The goal is to start and slowly build up to the more competitive terms.

3. The Title of Your Web Page
Every web page on your website should be focused on a specific keyword. That is, a word or phrase you want that web page to show up for in the search engines. The title of your web page tells the search engines exactly what that web page is about and what it can expect to find within the rest of the content on that page. Always use the keyword or keyword phrase that you want to rank well for in the title of your web page and keep it contained within the

<TITLE> </TITLE> tags of your HTML code. Additionally, refrain from using your business name in the title. Doing this will only dilute the importance of the keywords you're trying to rank well for.

4. Your Meta Description Tag
While many meta tags, such as the meta keywords tag, are rarely used by the major search engines any longer to determine what's contained within your web page, the meta description tag is one of them that is used. The description is what shows up as the text just below the link to your site in a search engine results page or SERP. While it won't provide a huge boost in rankings, it will help your potential site visitors to make that all-important decision to click your link over your competitors. Use your keywords within the meta description tag, but also make it enticing to your would-be site visitors by offering an incentive to visit you such as a free report or free tips.

5. Keywords in a Header
You can think of a heading on your web page like a headline in a newspaper. The headline generally gives basic information about what's contained within the rest of the article. The heading on a web page works much the same way as a newspaper article only within the web page, the heading contains the keywords you're optimizing that page for. When you write the heading, incorporate the keywords you've chosen for that page. The heading does not have to contain ONLY the keywords but it should work them into a readable format.

Additionally, not all headings are created equal. Headings range from H1 header tags all the way to H6 header tags with H1 being the most important, H2 the second most important and so on. So always be sure you're using the H1 tag when writing a heading for your web page.

6. Keywords in the Content
When you begin to write the content of your web page you'll want to incorporate the keyword phrase you've chosen for that page where it would fit naturally. Whatever you do, forget keyword density; in other words, using your keywords a certain percentage of time throughout your content. Instead, focus on using your keyword phrase naturally while also using words and phrases related to the keyword itself. You can generally see what Google believes to be similar terms to your keyword phrase by simply using Google's free keyword tool which you can find by doing a Google search, entering in your keyword phrase and then scrolling down to the section "Additional keywords to Consider".

7. Linking Your Pages
Links are very important to search engines. Especially Google and this not only means links coming to your website but how you link up your own website's pages. When you link to another page on your site, be sure you're using the keywords of the page you are linking to within the anchor text. In other words, the "clickable" portion of the link.

8. Using Images
Images are very important to add to a web page because they add to the visual appeal. However, when you do use images on your web pages its important that you do two things with that image. First, give the image a description within the

<alt> tag. This means that if you're writing a web page on "dog training tips" that you'd have an image on your page related to that topic and that the alt tag of that image contains a description of that image. Second, add a caption underneath the image again describing the image. Whatever you do don't make the mistake of stuffing keywords within these areas; in other words using the keywords you're optimizing your page for over and over again within the alt tag or the caption of the image. Instead just use a brief message describing the image.

All of these on-page SEO techniques will work to your favor if you simply use them with each and every web page. Although for a one-man or woman operation it can get very time-consuming so if possible, outsource these simple tasks to someone willing to do the work for you. This will allow you to focus on building incoming links to your website from outside sources which is a very large contributing factor as to how well you rank for those more competitive keywords.

Computer Games; the Next Technological Generation is Evolving Fast

Have you ever considered where innovation comes from? It comes from a number of places and perhaps we need to look at Maslow's "hierarchy of needs" to fully understand this. For instance, self preservation is a really high on the Maslow's hierarchy pyramid, people don't want to die so they will pay lots of money for technologies which keep them alive. This is why there's so much research and development money going to the healthcare, and medical devices, pharmaceuticals and new procedures and equipment.

Military technology is another place where lots of money is spent. No one wants their civilization to be crushed by another group of people who come in and kill everyone in the population. Further, people want to live free, and they will spend lots of money to ensure that they have a strong military so they can live in freedom.

For those that reached Maslow's hierarchy of needs in the upper echelon of the pyramid, they have reached self-actualization and they will spend lots of money being entertained and having a good feeling. Therefore, you can expect lots of money in the entertainment business.

Perhaps, it is for this reason that so much money is spent on the development of computer games. And the next technological breakthroughs for computer games is evolving fast. There are now games that can incite brain waves based on what is happening inside the game. For instance, if there is a conflict it will increase your heart rate, make you scared. There are also new developments of holographic imagery so you will be immersed in a virtual reality environment.

The video games of the future will be so real you won't be able to tell you're in a video game. That's how fast things are evolving and why many hard-core computer gamers can't wait. The future looks very bright and interesting for the industry. Please consider all this.

Learn How to Create a Guild and Rise to the Top!

The number one reason that people join MMORPGs is to interact with other players. Battling, trading, and communicating with other people makes online games so much more real than "offline" games. I've played a variety of MMORPGs and I'm surprised by the lack of quality guilds. Most games have 4 or 5 guilds that control the game, while there are hundreds of poorly managed guilds that accomplish nothing. Creating and managing a guild is much easier than you think, if you just remember these guidelines.

1. Create a guild leadership system. If nobody knows whose in charge, nothing will ever be accomplished. Create a system where players can be promoted if they show dedication/potential

2. Set recruiting standards. Only let the best into your guild. This very important. Make sure the people you recruit are active and will contribute positively to the guild. Advertise for you guild on forums and in game.

3. Run guild events often. Spend time with you guild members and get to know them. Running a guild is fun! Enjoy it.

4. Punishment. If you don't punish guild members when they deliberately do something wrong, you gild will fall apart. Talk the member first. Be nice, try not to be accusing. If the problem continues, they need to go.

5. Create a guild website. If you have the means to do this, do it. Your guild members will respect your dedication, and the website can be a great tool in the organization of your guild.

Remember, any player can power-level their characters or become mindless gold farmers. But only the greatest and most respected MMORPG players can establish a guild and command an army of players. Good luck!

Make Your Joomla Admin Hacker-Proof

One very popular way for hackers to try to gain access to your Joomla administrator is to brute force attack to guess your password. What this does is try thousands of different username/password combinations until they find the right one. Joomla doesn't allow you to choose the default admin username so they already know half of what they need. Fortunately it is easy to add extra security.

#1: Change the admin username

Firstly, you will want to change the default admin username. First login to your control panel (often cPanel) and go to your database editor (normally phpMyAdmin), . In your Joomla database edit the jos_users (your prefix may be different) and find user id 62, that is the user you are trying to edit.. Pick a username other than "admin". At this point very few hack attempts will work since most just try the default admin username, this involves less coding on their end.

#2: Choose a better admin password

Now you'll need to have an admin password that is difficult to guess. A secure password is 8-12 characters (the more the better) and contains numbers and special characters, along with lower and upper case letters.

#3: Use .htaccess protection

With .htaccess protection there will be 2 logins needed to get into your Joomla admin. Some Joomla hosting providers have firewalls that can automatically block a hacker after a set number (normally 5) of failed login attempts. .htaccess protection can be enabled by logging in to cPanel (or your hosts control panel) and clicking the Password Protect a Directory button. You can then select the "public_html/administrator" directory to protect, and add users who you want to be able to login.

These few, easy steps will exponentially increase the security of your Joomla installation.

Configure Your Computer For Gaming

In this tutorial we will look for a high-performance of computers for gaming, especially for those games last generation.

The issue of PC games is an issue that even if some may seem minor it is not, or much less. It is this market that has done more for the evolution of computers for gaming, making it ever reaches these higher benefits. And that let the market of graphics cards. Be very aware that, unless the market for digital video editing, there is another market that needs higher performance computers in this game. Even the designs of CAD / CAM machines are powerful, especially with graphics performance as high.

Well, let's see how to configure Computers for gaming.

Box And Power Supply:

If other use of the importance of the power supply is high, this is essential. We must go to a source of high performance (and indeed quality) of at least 600 watts, with specific properties, such as giving food to PCIe graphics directly through a specific connector. Also, the box itself is important in this sector. We will need a box with a good sound and great cooling property, and here we are going to push it to the computer. Available on the market a very wide range of boxes, some are really extreme for this particular market.

Base Plate:

For this use it directly out any plate with integrated graphics, because in no case will give us the benefits we need. There are several plaques on the market designed exclusively for this type of computers, and while not essential to them, whether we squeeze as much as possible with our computer that it is desirable or at least represent a very interesting option. A sample of these plates (which are manufactured for both AMD and Intel) would be the series of Gigabyte G1-Turbo, the Game Edition Asus or DFI Infinity. The most important features to consider is that support dual graphics (SLI or Crossfire) and allow a smooth implementation of Over clocking and a high FSB (which is currently located at 2.000MHz in the case of plates for AMD and 1.333MHz Plaque for Intel processors.

Processor:

At AMD, we can choose between AMD64 x2 (5200 +, 5600 + or 6000 +), while Intel can choose one of E65xx, E66XX or E67XX. The most demanding are eligible for the series of Intel Extreme Edition or an AMD FX. It is very important to have an FSB as high as possible.

This section must be borne in mind that very few games that really take advantage of the qualities of a dual-core processor, so if you opt for a low-end processor the game will run worse than a computer with a single-core processor, but a higher frequency.

Tips to Buy a Good Laptop Computer

Laptop is increasingly becoming an object of necessity. New laptops have not only become powerful but also a lot more cheaper. If you happen to visit your nearby laptop store you might be amazed to see the variety and colors, these portable computing devices are now available in. With so many choices, it may not be easy for you to decide what to buy so, we are giving here important features to look out before buying your new laptop.

Processor

I need not to tell you that the processor is the brain of the laptop. Most of the time it is

difficult to upgrade your processor so try to buy a powerful dual core processor. The dual core processor has been popular off late because of its effectiveness to run multiple applications (multi-tasking) with ease. Although buying a dual core processor is your own decision please try to avoid Celeron or AMD processors when it comes to laptop as they are not a choice but a compromise.

Operating System.

Selection of an operating system for your laptop should be based on your requirements. Some people are comfortable with windows operating system while some are with Linux. While Linux is free you have to pay for windows operating system. Your laptop may come with pre-installed operating system but they can be re-installed if you want to change your operating system.

Memory

The amount of memory for your laptop solely depends on the type of work you intend to do on it. For example if you buy the notebook for movie editing, games or graphical work you may require higher amount of RAM. For general purposes 512 MB of memory should serve the purpose. In case of dual core processor please do not consider memory below 1GB.

Hard drive

In case of a hard drive , give preference to SATA hard-drive over PATA as they are obsolete now. Some new laptops are soldered with solid-sate hard-drive these days. A hard drive of minimum 80 GB space capacity may be considered to buy.

Graphics Card

Laptops graphics card are used to generate and output images to the LCD display. They are also called video controller or graphics controller. You may consider a mid range graphics card with a minimum 128 MB memory card capacity.

Port

There should be at least 3 USB ports in a laptop. USB ports are very useful considering the wide range of new electronic gadgets that needs to be plugged in to the pc. Besides USB pots there should be at least 1 multimedia format card reader,1 fire wire port and VGA out port. You may select a pc card slot or express card slot for the purpose.

Call of Duty World at War

Call of Duty is a great game series with many of the games being based on World War 2. Which is a war that has some games out there covering them, but few of them are as good as Call of Duty World at War. Now you might be asking what sets this game apart from the others in the series, but that would have to be that the graphics are mind blowing. I know that some people will think that since it is based off of World War 2 that it will not be that good, but for those that like the historical impact that the game follows you will love it.

Now I mentioned that the graphics are excellent for this game which they are. I know that compared to the Modern combat version of this game which was released prior to this one that you can notice the difference. The main difference that I noticed is that the movements of the people is more life like when compared to some of the older ones, which is to be expected when you have a newer version of any game. Otherwise if the people still moved like stick figures why would someone want to pay good money for the game? Well with this game you do not have to worry about that because the graphics and movements of the people are so awesome that you can actually gain a feeling like you are there and if the games ever come with a card that generates the actual smells you would love this even more!

If you would like to read even more information about Call of Duty World at War this article will come in handy.
